Green Up Day Vermont
M
Green Up Vermont’s mission is to promote the stewardship of our state’s natural landscape and waterways, and the livability of our communities by involving people in Green Up Day while raising public awareness about the health, economic, and visual benefits of a litter-free environment year-round. VTGC partners with Green Up Day Vermont to spread the word to trail users and managers. We encourage you to engage staff and volunteers to spruce up parking lots, trail heads and trails: grab a bag, meet fellow trail enthusiasts, and pick-up trash. Take care of the outdoor spaces you love. Green Up Day is May 3, 2025

- Find out if trail groups in your area are scheduling an event. If not, it’s easy to plan one yourself. Contact your town Green Up Day coordinator, let them know where you’ll be headed, and advertise.
- Download the Green Up App to form your team and engage other groups with a little friendly competition on the trash leaderboard.
- Pick up your free Green Up supplies from your Volunteer Town Coordinator and spend an hour or two picking up litter around your town. It makes a huge difference and it feels great to give back to your community.
- Share your good work with your town coordinator. Collecting stats on # of volunteers, miles of roads, and # of bags of trash picked up helps us report progress.
- Check the Green Up website for the list of fun after parties at local breweries featuring a DIY Kentucky Derby Hat contests (hats must be made from recycled, repurposed and reimagine material) that promote less waste and celebrate our work on Green Up Day.
- Let VTGC know what you do! We’ll post your event on our events page and share in our enews. info@vermonttgc.org
