SUMMARY:PARKS & RECREATION ADA BOOTCAMP
DESCRIPTION:Recreation is more than a pastime\, it’s an integral part of the human experience\, with widespread advantages in preventing\, alleviating\, and managing disability and chronic conditions. \nThat’s why the Great Plains ADA Center is excited to extend an invitation to the Parks & Recreation ADA Bootcamp\, happening August 12th to 15th\, 2025 at the Harkin Institute in Des Moines\, IA.  Registration is limited to the first 60 registrants! \nThis four-day event is designed to empower participants to become leaders in accessible recreation within their state or local organizations. With a focus on accessible recreation\, this bootcamp is tailored for a diverse audience\, spanning Title II and III entities under the ADA\, along with other participants passionate about accessible recreation. Participants will experience an immersive learning journey that covers legal responsibilities\, the intricacies of inclusive design\, and best practices in accessible recreation. \nWhy attend? \nExpert-led sessions. Learn from leading professionals in accessible recreation. \nInteractive off-site field trips. Apply concepts through hands-on experiences in real-world settings. \nOptional certification advancement opportunities. Earn 22 elective credits for certification success through ACTCP\, making significant progress toward certification or enhancing your current role as an ADA Coordinator. \nEveryone’s welcome. Whether pursuing ACTCP certification\, looking to deepen your knowledge as an ADA Coordinator\, or simply eager to expand your understanding\, this event is for you. \nPlus\, an added dose of fun to make your learning experience truly memorable! \nRegistration Deadline is July 11\, 2025 or when the event is sold out; whichever comes first.  Only 60 seats available! \nCancellations must be received prior to July 11th to qualify for a 90% refund.  Cancellations received/requested after July 11th are not eligible for refunds. \nSubstitutions can be made at any time at no additional charge.  ADA accommodation requests for substitute attendees made after July 11th will be provided if possible\, but are not guaranteed.

SUMMARY:Inclusive Spaces Audit Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SORP is excited to Vermont for our next Inclusive Spaces Audit Workshop! Join us for an engaging and hands-on workshop designed to help outdoor recreation providers assess and improve inclusivity in their spaces. The Inclusive Spaces Audit Workshop provides a structured approach to expanding access\, welcoming underrepresented users\, and fostering a greater sense of belonging in outdoor settings. \nThe event will take place from August 18 to August 20 in Poultney\, Vermont. We will be offering just the Workshop (August 19) and a Train-the-Trainer Program (August 18 – 20). \nSchedule: \nAugust 18 | Train-the-Trainer: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nAugust 19 | Audit Workshop: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM \nAugust 20 | Train-the-Trainer: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM \nTrain-the-Trainer Program (August 18 & 20) \nFor those looking to lead future Inclusive Spaces Audit Workshops. It will include a pre-workshop session (August 18) and a post-workshop debrief (August 20)\, plus participation in the workshop (August 19). \nThe Train-the-Trainer training is free (including the workshop)\, but space is limited. Interested participants must submit an application to be considered. APPLY NOW \nNote: lunch not provided on August 18 & 20. \nInclusive Spaces Audit Workshop (August 19) \nA one-day\, interactive training for outdoor recreation professionals looking to create more inclusive environments. Participants will learn practical strategies for assessing accessibility and making meaningful improvements. \nAudit Workshop is available on a first-come\, first-served basis. The workshop is $50 for non-members and $40 for SORP members\, with lunch included on the workshop day.
